Brian Keeley, PhD is one of two academics I interviewed for the film. Neither made it into the final cut. I think most of the academics studying “conspiracy theories” are doing it from a sociological, psychological or philosophical standpoint. You have very few people taking an actual historical viewpoint on these issues (many of which are matters of history). The assumption many of these academics make is that “conspiracy theories” are dangerous and wrong and must be combated.
Keeley has been part of organizing conferences on “Conspiracy Theory,” one of which is archived in full here: The 1st International Conference on the Philosophy of Conspiracy Theory.
